Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® operates under a food safety system that utilizes the internationally accepted Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standard. The SQF standard is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative.
Our manufacturing warehouses are certified for HACCP and our greenhouses are certified for food safety fundamentals. Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® takes food safety and food quality very seriously. We feel that we have a moral and ethical obligation to do the right thing for our customers and always strive for the highest standards of food safety and food quality for our product consumers. Our goal is to be better than the competition and to continuously exceed government requirements.
The Department of Food Safety takes a proactive verses reactive approach to food safety and food quality. Traceability, microbiology, post harvest, and certifications are all segments of our continuously developing and improving food safety program at Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® .
